When I ordered my truck I told the dealership not to install the bracket when my truck came in. When I picked up my truck the bracket was in my truck, still in the unopened package.

Ditto, I'll be requesting the same. Back in 2007 I ordered a GT500 and made sure (multiple times) everyone in the dealership knew NOT to drill the front bumper to install the plate bracket. When my new GT500 arrived they detailed it had it ready then when everyone was at lunch a lot boy walked by noticed it missing and took it upon himself to go ahead and drill the bumper and attach the frame...my buddy was GM of the dealership at the time and both he and I were pissed...LOL, that's where I learned the push pin solution!

I'm having same problem, plate bracket is riveted onto bumper and I want to install Plate Frame that only has holes on top, where the rivits are...I want to keep the truck as stock as possible,so question is,if I drill out these rivits...not a big job...does Ford sell some type of half-round insert you can place in the holes?? AND,does anyone know of a different type of bracket that would just fit over the Ford without drilling it off? Only thing I'm coming up with are those $90 Stow-N-Go's,which I dont really need.
Thanks!L1210738.JPG L1210739.JPG

Dealership riveted mine on. Not a problem. Drill with small bit and zero visible signs it was there. 10 minute job.

@hamster Ok, just want a little clarity.

I drilled out the rivets. There are now 2 ends sticking out. I can now use a punch and force them out of the actual bumper which will then be left with 2 flush holes correct?
Old thread revival! I drilled out the rivets but I’m left with these things sticking out. Did you ever figure out how to remove those? Not sure exactly what I’m doing!!

use something to punch it out, the hole should be clean since all the bumpers are predrilled for the rivets, it just depends if the dealer installs the bracket or not.

Yep, he's correct. Knocked mine out with a punch and they fell right out the back side. Then plugged the holes with little plastic plugs from the hardware store.

Wow...read through this old thread and was amazed by the amount of posts about removing the rivets. If you want to retain the license plate, but not block the intercooler, just use the two OEM holes and mount the plate using the bottom two holes. The plate will be above the intercooler.

On mine, I needed to have the plate. One, California requires it and two, I tow my Raptor behind my motor home. I had to bring the connections to the front grill for brakes and lighting. I'm using a flip up license plate mount so I can connect to the wiring plug. The flip up bracket I bought, was a direct fit to the Ford holes. The flip up bracket is a friction fit, so I guess I could flip it up during hard off road driving.

Here are two photos of the bracket.
