I have a question about the remote start.

Does the heat or ac automatically adjust to the ambient & interior temp?

Or does it just turn on where you had it set when you shut the truck off?

Example. Early AM it is 35*F, so drive to work with heat on. Afternoon temp leaving work 80*F. I use remote start from office, when I get to the truck will AC be on or will heat be on because I left it on when I shut the truck off?

I ask because this is how my Silverado functions now, adjusts to give you cool in summer and heat in winter. So making the transition to the Raptor this is one question I was unsure about.

Yeah it'll adjust to make the truck whatever temp you had set on it when you turned it off. I leave mine at 72 and it'll warm the truck up if it's colder than that. I guess the 2011 guys got the added option of having the heated seats come on too.

Ah that sucks. Was hoping this was changed. Come on Ford, give us smart climate control.

The 2011 is different in that regard as well. It aggressively combats the temperature extremes on remote start. Once you put the key in everything is set back to your default climate control settings.

Wow that's pretty nice. Wish mine did that.

Ah ok, this is what I was hoping for. I usually turn my system off before I exit the truck, I was worried remote start would not adjust the climate control automatically.

I understand when I put the key in it will go to prior setting.

I was asking about remote start only.

It is just nice for it to kick on the heat and adjust to defrost to clear the windshield before I even get out the door of the house on those frosty mornings.

Thanks for the help.

The 11 remote start gives the option to use your preset heater control and temp, or it has the option to control the climate control operation based off ambient air temp. It also includes same automatic option for heated seats to warm them up below certain temp.

Mind sharing how to activate this option? I checked the Owners manual with no luck.

Edit: I figured it out. For anyone else wondering the same, go to settings-remote start-climate on the info screen.

Does anyone know at what temp the heated seats, defrost and heated mirrors are activated when set to "auto"
