I actually WAS just out there over Christmas in my Raptor, but on a long trip, and doing major mods on trips isn't for me.

I am curious about the ICON RXT springs as they offer the end user some flexibility down the road with included additional leafs (or is it leaves?). If they are a Deaver made unit, I might be more inclined. I'll try to give ICON a call and report back!

A lot of the Houston guys make the short trip up to TMX in Dallas for suspension mods. Give them a call and see what they can do for you. They sell and install all of the suspension products so they arguably have the most unbiased opinion on what works best for your specific application(s).

The answer I think you're going to get is to go with Deaver. Mainly for availability reasons and their proven track record in how they are holding up off-road. ICON is a great option, I just don't know availability of their spring packs since they are just now coming out with the RXT kit.

Both Deaver and National leaf springs are set at a softer spring rate, which means it takes less weight to compress them. This results in a softer, more plush ride which keeps the rear of the truck from bouncing around. Less wheel hop leads to more control. They are a multi leaf design to help with axel wrap, which is a big problem for the Raptor.

So in terms of daily driving, the truck will feel more planted to the ground, softer and speed bumps won't feel like you're hitting a curb anymore in the rear. lol

So with a softer initial load compression, does the truck squat lower in the bed with Deavers +2 vs stock, if I put 500 lbs inthe bed?

In both cases (running stock or with Deavers) you will see a slight droop in the bed under load but nothing crazy. In all actuality you probably would not be able to tell the difference between the two and if you could it would be minimal.

Where the real difference comes in, is the stock springs have a load spring (the shortest spring on the bottom of the leaf pack) which is better equipped to handle load for long periods of time.

Deaver +2s and National SDs are not designed to hold more than 250 to 300lbs in the bed for a long period of time. i sacked out a set of +2s in less than 5 months because i was running a chase rack which was around 500-600lbs 24/7.

Deaver is a great company and they took care of me! I had the springs re-arched and they added a load leaf for my specific needs.

If you are going to be running any type of load over 300lbs for long periods of time, get a set of Deaver +3s or National HDs.

You can also always give us a call, tell us what your specific needs are and we can have a custom set made for you. :)

Hope this is helpful. Any other questions feel free to shoot me a PM or give us a call.

I have a ARE topper on most of the time , its 150 lbs and don't carry anything else full time, but I do tow a trailer and get firewood in it, it's pretty heavy, especially loaded . That's only 2 times a year though.

If you go up to + 3s vs the 2s wouldn't you lose a bit of that initial responsivness?
