Control arms and rear axles are in no way related

My question is: What exactly are you changing,in regards to your suspension?

If you plan to use Raptor front suspension components (UCA's, LCA's, IWE's) this will increase your track width by 7" in the front. Now to match that track width in the rear, you would need to do an axle swap. All suspension components are related!

As stated already, many F-150 owners have replaced their factory shocks with Raptor 2.5's with out any issues. Just trying to help understand your situation.

Right now is just rear shocks to get started. Then in February im swapping everything: uppers, lowers, spindles, tie rods, cv's, brake lines, struts..as far as the track width, ill probably roll around for a little while looking like a prerunner because rear axel takeoffs are hard to find. But I'm ok with that I suppose.

Don't forget if you're doing the rear shocks, you want to replace the rear block with one from a Raptor (or equivalent height), or a new leaf pack that will put you close to Raptor ride height. Otherwise you'll risk bottoming out the shock sooner because it is physically longer than your OEM shock.

TurboTim,

I think you have your info backwards. The newer shocks have the 360 shields. I have a '14 and they are surrounds. Ford realized that rocks were bouncing off of other components and damaging the rear side of the rods, so they decided to enclose the entire rod.

Ford realized that? I assume you made that up or read that somewhere on the Internet so it must be true.

You are correct though, the 14' does go all the way around. Not sure how they were in the prior years.
