You have to make sure the sliding bar is in the right position vertically. It should line up with the 2 small rectangular tabs on the piece that holds the round bar.

Once in a while on my Silverado beater the tailgate will flop down while driving. That will REALLY scare the crap out of you!

I hope that doesn’t happen with my raptor lol
