Rear seat fell down on its own.

I was driving home today and the back seat the 60 side fell down on its own when I stopped to turn. It also doesn’t seem to be latching and can be pulled back down without using the lever. Any ideas what the problem is?

Scare the crap out of you?

I posted about the same problem months ago but was told to lift heavier weights. I'm since done so, but no luck with the seat staying latched. I'll eventually bring it to the dealer. And mine will feel locked if I pull down gently, but if I come to an abrupt stop - bombs away!

Ya when the seat drops, scares the hell out of you.

Give the seat a push so it latches. Make sure the seat belt latches aren’t in the way.

It goes back up but doesn’t lock in place for whatever reason

its a 2019 so it definitely is, I’ll mess with it some more before I do that I haven’t messed with it much yet

Honestly I was afraid to slam it super hard

It goes back up but doesn’t lock in place for whatever reason

You have to make sure the sliding bar is in the right position vertically. It should line up with the 2 small rectangular tabs on the piece that holds the round bar.

Once in a while on my Silverado beater the tailgate will flop down while driving. That will REALLY scare the crap out of you!

I find that it tends to help if I mentally picture the bar latching correctly as I'm pushing the seat back. If telekinesis doesn't work, I resort to verbally assaulting the seat.
