Take a bur-bit round the bolt head so nothing fits. Then if you need to get them off, take a cutoff wheel knock the head off and push the bolt out. You would have to order a new bolt, better than a new shock

the pentabolt (erwhatevr) might work but looks like you could just stick a slighter bigger socket on it ??

OK, I know how I'm going to protect my rear shocks from theft. I'm going to pull the upper shock bolts, grind a flat on the very end of the threads, drill a hole across the bolt, and run a length of safety wire through the hole. There is plenty of length in the factory bolts to do this. On the back side of the frame this will be difficult to spot, unexpected, and will take a pair of fine wire cutters to remove. Not foolproof, but a thief expecting to make a quick/easy theft may not come with wire cutters in his pocket. At the very least it'll take longer to figure out why the bolts won't come out and address the problem. This is what I've done with my off-road lights, too.

This still amazes me that this can happen at someone's residence. Hell we leave the keys in the ignition of most of the vehicles on the farm and have never had a problem.

As much as I hate living in an apartment complex, I at least have some peace of mind knowing that maybe if one of my many neighbors saw a random guy removing a shock or going through my truck, they may say something.

Or at the least they set off the alarm and I can just look out the window to catch them...

:birgits_tiredcoffeeIf they want it they will steal it! Nothing will deter a person set on stealing something. You can deter the guy that stealing pops into his head, or it's incovient for him. In the case of the Raptor shock, this person knew what he wanted and planned it out, brought tools. He/she was not just walking by and said "gee think I will steal a set of shocks on the way to the store. Bottom line this is why we carry insurance to protect us from Dirtbags. How many times have you heard an alarm and not paid it any attention in a parking lot..me too. How many folks have thousands of dollars of electronics in their vehicles protected by GLASS...lol. Good luck fellows, you can make it hard but not impossible!

^^ Or we can do nothing and make it easy.

Does anyone know the torque specs for the upper and lower rear shock bolts, please?
