GUYS!

Call McKenzies here in So. Cal and get a set of their Heavy Duty shock boots for the 3.0 shocks.

These boots last ALL season on Tim Casey's stock full race truck!

They're actually machine bellows designed to protect machine shafts. They're a rubberized cloth material and are worth the price.

I have them on my truck for my KIng's.

No offense to Mid Flaps everywhere but this, if it's as good as you say, sounds like a MUCH BETTER solution :sunot:

When we designed this midflap system we tried to keep in mind that some would not want them on during normal street driving. Once the mounting bracket has been installed, the midflaps can be removed from both sides in about 30 seconds. From there they can be stored below your seat or in the garage out of the way should you choose not to run them all the time. Also the main mounting bracket is not visible once the midflaps are removed.

This was not designed to take the place of shock boots or guards. We felt this would be a great added layer of protection. I personally have grown on the look seeing them on our often, but again they are extremely easy to remove and only run when you are headed out to the desert or a Raptor run.

Mckenzies Shock Protectors ordered

Thanks for the information Xr Valdeez!!! This is great! I just ordered a set from Mark at McKenzies. Should be here early next week.

I may try to place them over the Fox rubber protectors to give them some extra, but not sure if there is enough wiggle room for that!

My set of Fox 3.0's from RPG will be here Friday! :)

These are THE deal!

No problem, just trying to pass along good information when I have it! I was kind of surprised when around on this and other web sites, that this type of shock boot isn't more prevalent. I figure that if they can hold up to an entire season under a stock-full race truck, they should last a couple years on Craptors!

Here's what they look like installed.........

When you put them on your shocks, leave the bottom un-attached and let them hang. These pictures are from my truck at full droop. The boots will fall down and cover the entire shaft. I have two hard trips on these so far and they look great and the shafts are pristine!

One note on mid/mud flaps. We found that conveyor belt material works the best! It's thick and VERY tough. We used a flap all the way across our stock-mini truck in front of the shocks in addition to multiple layers of a.b.s. attached to the shocks to make the seals last one race! That kind of flap would look ridiculous on our trucks, but I'm sure some enterprising person could find a way to make them smaller. I just wish we would have known about the machine bellows thing a long time ago, would have saved us a lot of time and money!

this is my solution. get them out of harms way, get 16in of travel and not cut the bed. Im tired of beating up my icons- last run I slammed the lowwer mount on a rock and broke the guard into peices.

Has no one really said anything about this yet? This is kickass!
