Rear Ford Oval

only reason I popped it off was to wrap the base where the emblem is mounted too. It is chrome also. If you don't have a camera or don't want to have the base black, then you can just cover it.

This piece will be to big. Our rear emblem is only 7" not the 9" oval

So if I have this piece on order

and if I have this correct..., would you suggest me popping off the OEM piece even though tabs will get messed up? The new piece i have on order will have 3m backing but don't know if the OEM piece will have to be reused. Just wanted to verify as this will be the first mod that I have to suck up breaking, lol! Truck only having 100 miles on her doesn't help either

The badges mount with 3M VHB adhesive. Cost depends on the size of your oval and paint scheme. Prices start at $90 for a black 7" oval.

We can do custom oval designs as well, but we would not be able to put "SVT Raptor" in the oval because that is a trademarked Ford logo and Ford wants to keep "FORD" in the oval. If you wanted something like a Raptor dino skull in the oval, that would not be a problem.

not sure I can help any but I just painted my emblem with some shadow chrome paint and clear and I think it turned out pretty nice. It was extremely humid today and the paint sort of hazed over so I am going to need to wet sand it tomorrow and hit it again. here a few pics to give you an idea.

I ended up redoing this. I removed the entire tailgate and brought it on my porch. Wet sanded it with 1500 grit paper and a mix of rubbing alcohol and water. (disclaimer, not sure if the rubbing alcohol was needed but felt it would help keep the water from setting into the paint)

i sanded the entire top and took all the paint off of the chrome letters and pin strip oval around the edge. I almost got carried away and started taking part of the chrome off the letters, its pretty easy to do.

Finished it up with a few light coats of the shadow paint and hit it with clear. much, much better!
