Heh guys,

I have a question for Raptor owners. I just got my 2013 SCREW and love it. I haven't had much/any time to really use the truck for what it's designed, but it will come.

I noticed on my way to work each day, that when I am on a bumpy blacktopped road it seems that the rear end shutters, vibrates, or bounces more than I expected on the truck. I had a 2001 F150 SuperCrew prior, and that truck didn't do the shuttering I am feeling now.

I feel the shutter in the seat vs steering wheel, which generally to me means the rear end. I try to figure out if it really is shuttering or boucning, but hard to also drive at the same time.

Today I just got my ARE tonneau installed, and in the side mirror it almost seems like it is bouncing when drivng on that road.

I am trying to figure out if something could be wrong.

Any thoughts???

Try going faster to see if it stops. The shocks do seem sensative to small imperfections in the road. Also it may just need to be broken in by driving some really rough roads.

yeah, the truck is sensitive to the little shit, if you're not working it hard, it's not too happy, definitely try speeding up, or change out the leafs in the back, they're the worst part of the truck

Just upgrade the suspension to 3.0's and you won't have the problem anymore....or go faster. Your choice :)

The shutter went away on mine after I added the bed cage w/ 2 spares ,jack etc. I think the initial spring rate is just a little stiff on the SCREW.

The cheap stock leafs suck - a lot of wheel hop and shudder on bumpy curves. Eventually after you decide how much weight you will have in the bed, you might change out to RPG's National progressive leaf pack. They have ironed out the issues with their Gen 1 version and they make all the difference

You need weight in the bed. With the bigass shocks, it's similar to driving around in a 1-ton with an empty bed.

It's set up for more, except unlike the 1-ton which is set up for more weight, the Raptor is set up for more bump.
