These rear defrosters are a problem. Seen several that shattered the rear window and have also had experience with it just stop working. So, i turned mine off ftom remote start menu and i just never use it.

I think my bird feather post carried more weight than this one did...

I JUST went thru this only a month ago. It is the contact in the rear slider. Needs a new window. Mine worked whenever it wanted to from new until it finally gave up the ghost. ...and the door mirror defrost is on the same circut and wont work if the circut isnt complete. FoMoCo paid 80% (I have the extended warranty, but the extended doesnt cover the rear window for some ******** reason). Go to the "Exploding rear window" thread, contact Crystal (or Brittany sometimes fills in), she'll help you out. FoMOCo knows this is a bad part and they are doing the right thing by helping out rather than stick us with the whole bill (if you're out of original warranty). E.

That happened on my 2013. I cleaned it with electrical contact cleaner on the part where the slider meets the fixed window and it's worked fine ever since. I got it from Home Depot in the electrical department. hope that helps, don't want you to trash me for not giving you enough info.:ROFLJest:

It's about time this forum gives ME some help, so step right up. My rear defrost seems to only work when it wants. The rest of the time, it will turn on for a second and then the indicator light shuts off with an audible click.

I'm guessing there's a short somewhere...but maybe it's normal? It reminds me of when my old Raptor's seat heater shit the bed.

Does the rear defrost only work below a certain temp or something? Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems to work fine when it's really cold outside.

Hey BIRDMAN,

Make an appointment at your dealer so they can check it out, then let me know if you need any help after getting a verdict. How many miles are on your Raptor?
