But if you order it and put a deposit down..... How will you not buy it when it arrives? Deposits for orders are non-refundable. So I guess you should order knowing the specs :win:

What is a deposit for a order? $100 $200? Plus I will be buying a F150 no matter what. Im sure I can roll it into that.

Normally, anywhere from $1,000 - 5,000 to place an order. Goes towards your vehicle obviously. Local dealer wanted $5K for a good faith deposit on the Raptor. Regular F150's are typically lower values.

Why put $ down for an order?? It's their job to sell cars, and placing an "order" is nothing out of the norm for any dealer. I didn't put a dime down when I ordered my Shelby or my '13 Raptor. If your dealer requires a deposit for something like that, I'd tell them to go **** themselves and go somewhere else

My dealer told me the other day probably 2-3 months out for the raptor. Not sure how accurate that is.

Also i will not be required to put a deposit down when i order.

I've ordered 2 trucks, one was the raptor, and both were refundable deposits of $1000. They don't want to get stuck with a "special order" they have trouble selling if you don't go through with the purchase. I would argue that shouldn't be a problem with a raptor.

7k to 9k as per the twitter msgs is a big range. Current truck can do 8k, so 2017 model should go higher than 8k by at least 500 pounds given weight savings.

No surprise there. Raptor's towing is limited by its suspension, and they aren't going to screw with that just to bump up the towing capacity. Maybe some fine tuning will add a bit, but they aren't going to stiffen up the rear.

My guess is that towing will increase some just because of the lighter weight, but not the full 500lbs.

I think if you're going to do much towing, you'll still want to check out aftermarket rear springs and/or air bags. In my book, 8000lbs max capacity means the comfort level is around 5500-6000lbs. You don't want to tow much at the max nor much over the weight of the truck.
