Re-Use OEM Tow Hitch?

If your using a recovery strap then there are loops on both ends. Stick one of the loops in the 2" receiver and put the pin in it. No hooks necessary. Been doing it that way forever and I still have my oem loops on the hitch.

Here's the link to how I modified my rear hitch. I've pulled 6K lb trailer with it with no problems. There's no liability issue. None of the hitch's made by any of the aftermarket bumper guys go through legal testing or DOT approval so anyone is liable if you want to look at it that way. Not an issue when you look at a draw-tite or Reese and see that we usually have something that is much stronger with more attaching points anyway.

^^^What he said. I also use one of these since i use an arb recovery strap which is to big to fit in the receiver.

RPG bumper/hitch seems plenty strong. I've towed my 6000lb travel trailer nearly 2000 miles with no problems.
