RCI METALWORKS, beware of it being less coverage

Nice quality.

The skids are smaller than stock. I’ll keep the gas tank skid but the rest is going back.
This would be better suited for an F150 platinum or something.

Im going to go with Ford Performance since it covers as much as the factory OEM.

Do you have pics for comparison?

I didn’t grab any.

the RCI skids are great quality but they’re straight width from front to back. The oem stuff is like a trapezoid. So the rci doesn’t protect the downpipes and in that area the frame rails are exposed as well.

it’s just not the coverage I had hoped. But the quality is outstanding. The gas tank skid is exactly what I needed though.

What’s the big difference in the tank plate. Isn’t the raptor tank cover steel? Thanks for the info I was thinking about a set of these. They’re shop is close by.

Stuff rusts easily here. I’m looking to get all aluminum.

I agree that they are made beautifully.

There isn’t anything wrong with them. They’re just designed with less undercarriage coverage. That won’t work for what I need and whoever buys them should be aware of the issue.

No

the issue is that they don’t cover as much as the OEM skid plates. They are at least 4 inches narrower on either side directly under the transmission and it completely exposes the cats to a sharp rock or a sharp limb.

when I compared them side by side I knew that they weren’t for me. KRAZY HOUSE, Ford Performance, Foutz all have complete coverage.

would there be any concern of heat being trapped if you "over plate" the bottom?
