I mean he has the right to do whatever he wants and I have no problem with him wanting to monetize his service. He made a great tool and may not have been seeing the donations to warrant continuing the service without a change.

However, what kind of capitalism has no feedback? Last time I checked this was a Raptor forum.. so why hate on people talking about major change to a Raptor search tool.

If I recall correctly, he is using data from ETIS. I wonder if this is even legal?

It's all about timing and this guy's timing is BAD.

Raptors are close to being sold at MSRP. Which means Raptorfinder is Raptorfucked.

It's all about timing. Shoulda done this from day one and he'd have made some coin. Now, not so much.

How cheap are you MFs?

Serious question.

He created a site that let you find the exact truck you want thousands less than what you were able to find on your own in a fraction of the time.

So many socialist-by-wallet capitalists on this site, makes me sick.

That's a dump thing to say. Consumers complaining about price is as capitalist as someone trying to charge as much as they can. If he doesn't provide enough value, then people will find other ways. That is the definition capitalism.

Fer ****’s sake.

We got tribes of people slamming those who paid ADM, tribes slamming posters who trumpet free market capitalism, b!tching about dealers trying to get ADM, whining about not being able to get a deal on a Raptor, the nonsensical gen1/2 bull$hit, and now, having resolved every other issue around the 2017+ Raptor from purchase to sale / trade, we’re on to crapping on raptorfinder.com.

Seriously, he should put that $hit in the App store, then we could be like “Siri, find me an 802A Raptor for MSRP”.

To which Siri would no doubt reply

hmm... let me think about that. I wasn’t able to find anything on the Rapture
:-/

the site is great if you need it. if you don’t need it, avail yourself of the internet and Ma Bell. what’s so hard about this?

I ordered my G2 before he created and shared the site. He created it for himself and wasn't going to keep it updated. Thoughtfully he did and he shared it. I haven't used it to find a Raptor, but I did go check it out. It works well enough. Who knows how long he will keep it up? I'd like to see an unlimited option per day, week or monthly fee. I don't usually hold on to my vehicles too long. Id use it in the future. Either way I'd still recommend the site. It's in it's infancy and surely will improve if the demand is there.

Well then. Seems I've stirred the proverbial pot. So to clarify a few points that are reasonable feedback:

1. For those asking for a $1 option, if you already have an order in and you have your VIN you do not need my site. You can view your window sticker at www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?vin=XXXX and your build info at https://www.etis.ford.com. If you didn't know this it's because you didn't read the stickies on this forum. Please don't blame my site.

2. For those asking for an unlimited option I couldn't really think of a way to do that. One person would buy it and then give it out to everyone.

3. For those saying it's too much money because of the number of VINs I can see the issue. Personally, I feel like I looked at a ton and it wasn't even close to 100. I could have made it 100 unlocks for $25, but then I get into the problem of people sharing their credits. Tough one.

Lastly, I made this site to help people, not make money. But when there are more people on this site claiming to have found a Raptor using my site than I have actual donations it sort of makes it not feel worth it anymore given the amount of tweaking and maintenance it's required. But keeping it going helped put power in the buyers hands because they could find the exact truck they wanted anywhere in the country and have some negotiating power. Making it a pay site felt like a fair trade to not only helping an individual save thousands, but also potentially help put pressure on dealers in general.

In the end this just isn't worth it. I didn't really want to add the support for 2018's, but after stopping last time and a few good people throwing some appreciation my way I decided to give it another go. But if there's this much complaining and moral outrage in the community I see no reason to continue going. I'm shutting it down for good and refunded all the people who recently "purchased" credits. If I missed yours and you didn't get a refund send me a PM. Appreciate all the people who have donated in the past and shown appreciation -- hopefully was able to help a few of you.

I'd pay $5 for my VIN that I custom ordered through the dealer. His site didn't help me find anything, so why would I pay $25 to unlock 25 VINs? Not everyone buys from dealer stock. :flipthebird:
