By way of VA. You’re right, TX inspector was like “what are those” - me: covers. “we don’t care about that here, only the deleted diesels get extra scrutiny”.

But in VA it’s a different story. Remember- Virginia: Stealing freedom since 1607. They’re the acknowledged pros across the globe at regulating.
VA’s inspection is yearly, and very particular.
Any mounted light : must be functional / OR covered with a permanent or semi permanent cover. I got through with b/d covers and fitted leather for my S8. you can have 1, and only 1 pair of extra, SAE lights and the MUST dim with high beams (or be covered) etc., etc., etc.

And don’t get me started on the personal property tax.

I found another sweet Gen 1 at my local Home Depot a couple days ago. I saw the guy as I was pulling out, we exchanged “Hey, nice truck!” pleasantries! LOL.
