Its defintly going to be a decision I'll have to make once we find out more details. I've waited on the Gen 2 because of looks and engine. The Gen 3 with the V8 is going to compliment the Gen 1 in the garage nicely!

Powerboost also increases range by ~200 miles, so the smaller tank still has greater range.

That's 200 miles on a standard F-150. With the Raptor's 35"/37" tires, raised suspension, air dam delete, and 4.10 gearing, you're not coming close to that. There is a reason the Raptor is rated 4 MPG less than a standard F-150 EcoBoost.

Nope! Thumbs down. Gen 3 didn't do enough for me to get off my '19. Will probably have the Mrs. trade her '17 Explorer Sport for a Bronco.

37” —— nice
Stronger suspension—— nice
Doesn’t look as good as my 2019

But no hybrid motor to power my blender, or rip the tires off from a standstill.

Gen 4?

Hell no. Spending $70k+ on a pickup is already insanity

When people are spending $75-$130k on useless compact electric cars that can’t tow, haul, or go off road, $70k for a vehicle with the capabilities of the Raptor doesn’t seem so bad. It’s all relative.

The MPG alone for a truck with that hp eliminates me. I drive way too much for that.

I'll definitely look into it for sure, after owning the Gen 2 Raptor I'm really liking the direction the Raptor and Ford Performance are going.

Can't wait to see the Raptor R reveal, and I'm glad Ford didn't rush it just to compete with the TRX in the 1/4 war, Ford has proven their Gen 1 and Gen 2 off road capabilities. The only thing the TRX brought was a supercharged engine to the table, and a fancy interior (which I'll admit is pretty nice).

When these companies compete, we win but the dealers win as well with their ADM, bleh.

I marked my answer as no because I don't believe that the v8 will be out for a long time. Even then, the reliability issues I read about in the test truck scare me. I know that is normal, but my fear is that they are trying to just make something work rather than having a ground up build/test that should have started a year or two ago. The TRX is going to have 2 solid sales years before this R model should be available.

There are no such reliability issues. Any report mentioning this are untrue.
