Having had a 23 eco to the switch to a 23 r. It's not worth the money. I also have a mclaren, 22 superduty, and an r8. I know what fun is luckily in some pretty neat cars. Would I buy the r over again? No.
For a truck sure it's neat(when you get it at first)- but doesn't have a wow factor for me personally. I have 13k miles now almost a year from when I purchased, it's been great to me. I think of it as my daily and a normal truck now.

Hey guys,

I'm posting here because, well, I'm indecisive and have no bad options. I've owned 2 Raptors previously: A 2014 and a 2020. I absolutely ADORED the 2014 Raptor. Best truck I've ever owned. Best vehicle I've ever owned. If I could buy a brand new 2014 Raptor right now then I probably would. I never should have sold it, but I was offered a great deal on an Eco-Boost model with it as a trade-in and I had 90k miles on it. I loved the eco-boost but it just wasn't the same. I ended up getting a 2022 F-350 Tremor with the 7.3L gas.

I absolutely love my F350 Tremor. It's well-built, comfortable, and I've got a fantastic aftermarket stereo in it (fit 2x JL Audio 10w7s under the rear seat with a full sized box, thunders like a Rosharan Highstorm.) Seriously, aside from the 2014 Raptor this is the best vehicle I have ever owned. It's roomy and built like a tank. My only complaint is that it's ENORMOUS. No really, it's tall. Really tall. 83.5 inches, give or take. Tall enough that while I can fit it in my 7' personal garage (with so little clearance I need to keep my PSI at or below 70 or else I hit the weather stripping) I would never trust the consistency of a 7' commercial garage. I did once and ended up getting my roof repainted. This isn't a big enough concern for me to sell the truck, but dropping down to 80.6" would be really nice.

So why am I considering a Raptor R? Because I miss the feel of the 2014. I miss that tight, almost sports-car feel in a truck.

I have never driven a Raptor R. My questions are as follows:

1.) Does the Raptor R have that same tight, well-made feel that the 2014 had? I test drove a Ram TRX and it was perfectly fine, but my F350 Tremor feels better. Should I expect that 2014 feel in the R?

2.) If I buy one, should I buy one now, or should I wait a year or three? I don't know how long Ford will offer the Raptor R and I definitely want one before they discontinue it. When/if I get it I plan on driving it until the wheels fall off. I've only got about 30k miles on my F350 so I'm in no rush, and if the R doesn't live up to my hopes and dreams then I'd like to know now, before I make the purchase.

If anyone has any other thoughts or questions I'm all ears. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thank you in advance for any input.
Bought a 2012. Still have it and as you can imagine it’s getting a bit worn. After the arrival of the eco boost I waited, and waited, and waited some more. Picked up a 23 R, no sun roof this time! I wasn’t sure about it at first. There is a lot about it I don’t like, all the clicking though the various drive modes feels more like a video game. I’m a little nervous of the sensors on it, there crap hanging off everything to measure suspension position. I wonder how long until I tear that all off in the woods and cough a code. I’m sure the non R has all the same acilary crap though. It took a little getting used to but it’s a very capable truck. It’s easy to drive fast. I have a whipple and push 13 psi on my old gen 1 so the power of the R wasn’t as earthshaking as I’d expected. I do have a 3.8:whipple coming, tore out the stock fog lights, they are junk, jammed some rigids in the holes and behind the grill. All in all it’s a beastly machine. If you want one and have the means, then by all means do it. Is it worth the sticker plus the adm, hell no!

Honestly you are not ready to buy one if asking these questions. You want one and CAN financially do it? Buy it.
I wanted one, found one at dealer, negotiate, drove home- moved on to the next task in life.

LOL 720 HP is not a normal truck if it was all trucks would have that kind of power. It limited to 113 because you rolling on 37" tires and 2 feet of the ground do 150 MPH on 37"s and see what happens....
