Can anyone point me to which model and size I want pretty please: https://hi-lift.com/hi-lift-jacks/ I'd like the lightest possible that will work. I already bought the red base and the strap with the hooks.

Thanks.

I'm thinking the red one in a 48" so it can fit in the bed.

Do you have aftermarket bumpers or rock sliders? If not, how is a hi-lift useful to a stock truck? We don't have lift points for a hi-lift.

I will have ADD aftermarket bumpers, but my plan was to use it like this:

Did I get this wrong?

There has to be a better way to jack up a Raptor than using a Hi-Lift jack tied to the wheel. Seriously.

That's about the most dangerous way to jack up a truck. There's a reason you never see Hi-Lift jacks on Raptors and other non-Jeep vehicles.

From what I have seen it seems like a pretty standard way to use this jack.

What would you recommend instead for off road situations?

I think it would be worth it to invest in and make room for a pro eagle or equivalent skid plate jack.

That being said a hi lift can be a useful tool, I just wouldn't trust it to jack up my 6,000 lb truck. It would be unstable and unsafe, especially on uneven off road surfaces.

I can't imagine that there is any jack that would be safe to lift our trucks on uneven or soft ground, but presumably this one has a better chance than a standard floor jack should the truck need to be lifted slightly to quickly slide ramps under it or fill the ground with rocks or something.

If I need to change a wheel I'd make sure I'm on as even and firm a ground as possible, lift it as indicated with the provided wheel straps, put a jack stand or two under the truck and do what I need to do.

I've never done any of this before so this seemed like a better solution than the provided oem jack.

I'm not sure what a 'skid plate jack' is so would you mind linking me to the one you're referring to please?

This is the go to. The base is much larger than a hi lift providing greater stability. The bottom of the jack has a skid plate for use on soft surfaces. The jack lifts higher than a normal jack and comes with an extension so you can get more lift on uneven surfaces for vehicles with more travel.
