In the video they showed a loud switch. Is that an electric cut out?

Doesn't that have negative effects on performance?
Depending on placement, they can haven an effect. If they're pre cats, you will (VERY generally) gain top end HP at the expense of low end torque. If they're after the cats, they're little more than noisemakers.

Even in deep sand, while the 5.4 is not as "nice" as the 6.2, a 5.4 certainly has enough power to keep up with a 6.2.

I'm not saying more power is not a good thing... but in the case of the 5.4 vs. 6.2 it's just not going to make that big a difference when you're out running the trails with your buddies.

YMMV
My tuner is looking for a 6.2L truck to compare to my truck. He wants to do dyno pulls and testing with a stock and tune only 6.2L.
