Raptor headlights

Considering a Raptor but somewhat concerned about some posts I found back from 2017 that the LED headlights weren't that great. Heading to a dealer at night isn't an option as it's still daylight during their evening hours this time of year so would appreciate some input as to the brightness of the lights. They are decent. They aren’t the equal of a euro luxury vehicle, however they are OK.

I have a 2019, and the headlights are definitely a disappointment. The coverage is fine, but they just aren’t bright enough IMO. You can turn on the automatic high beam function, which helps, although I leave mine off because I don’t want to blind oncoming drivers.

Or you can install lights in the outside lower bumper areas, which is what I did. You can wire these lights to the upfitter switches. I just add extra light as needed. I live in the city, so the dim headlights aren’t an issue the vast majority of the time.

I guess I had really bad headlights before because I was amazed by the Raptor lights. haha. But I came from a 2nd gen colorado with halogens and before that an FJ cruiser so I guess you cant get much worse than those 2 as far as headlights go.

2018 here and yes the headlights do suck. Adding some auxiliary lighting is a huge help.

Thanks for the responses thus far. Very disappointing to hear that in 2019 this is even an issue on a high-end vehicle. I'm currently in a 2017 Escalade, which truly lights up the night (even on low beams).

I was hoping for more when I got my Raptor coming from a 2004 Titan w/Halogen bulbs...Yes better then the Titan....It's kind of funny in that the Raptor LED's reflect back from all sorts of street signs.
Not losing too much sleep and already have B/Design lighting, but am going to add two SII Pro Combo lights up front, wired separately from my 10" bar...

Agreed. Headlights are fine for everyday use on normal roads. All the backroads I use my BD fog light kit from Off-road Alliance and they are plenty of light for those dark roads.

2019 here and yes the Raptor LED headlights suck compared to other vehicles I have owned with LED lights. I plan to add bumper pocket fogs soon to augment the lighting.

As said above they have good spread but are not bright enough. Given that LEDs tend to get dimmer with age I am not looking forward to them getting old.
