Here is what I have:
'13 Crew Ingot Silver
801A Pkg
Moonroof
Tailgate Step
Frt/Rr Camera

Cars.com gives me an invoice price of $48,634 including destination
Add $135 fuel charge
Add $786 ADV charge
Add my $500 over

I'm paying 50,055

Does that add up right? Is the ADV charge dependent on the MSRP of the truck as built, or its it a standard charge? I could swear the first time I built the truck with them the ADV fee was $810. i dropped the beadlocks from the build before they put it in and they came back with $786 for ADV charge.

I've been using TrueCar to calculate invoice. I get $49,244 for invoice and a MSRP of $53,890. True car say $610 for ADV and $995 Dest fees. ADV goes on as part of the invoice but not MSRP. Since everyone pays the ADV, D&D and Fuel charges we count those as part of the invoice price. So with all that said, it would say that you paid $811 over invoice. Maybe someone else can chime in on the ADV cost and whether that fluctuates or is it a set amount everywhere. We know the D&D is $995. I'll put your down for $811 over unless we hear more. Thanks

ADV varies.

I got 3 different ADV fees from 3 different dealers within 40 miles on the same truck. Then got a different ADV when I added more options.

It is price AND dealer dependent.

How it's figured, I have no clue.

This is interesting to see. I just gave the dealer I worked with the Cars.com sheet with the invoice price on it and said I'll go $500 over this plus the Fuel and ADV charge

I think we need to come to a consensus on how to handle ADV and Fuel charges when coming up with a "Invoice" price. I'd like to think we could come up with a "fair" ADV price (like the $610) on TrueCar and then anything over that is the dealer trying to tack on extra fees. Or do we really want to just say that whatever someone pays for ADV is "invoice" for that item. I just want everyone to be able to compare apples to apples when deciding what dealer to go to and where to get the best deal. As to fuel, I think it should be part of the deal, especially when buying a 50K vehicle. I'd vote for $0 when factoring in the "invoice" Fuel charge.

We need a few more thoughts on how best to handle this.

I found that none of the dealers here will deal on the fuel or ADV fees, much like the destination/delivery. As such, I think they should be part of what we're calling "invoice" in the amount actually paid.

Either that, or leave it out altogether since it varies and use only vehicle/options price.

Really, though, when it's all said and done MSRP is the only one that is constant. Invoice is different depending on where you go (edmunds, truecar.....). Doesn't make sense, but take a look. One example is the blue accent option. You'll see $640 and $623 for invoice price. So which is it?

I still prefer to say I got mine for $3960 under MSRP, including fees.

After reading up on TrueCar, they say they take into account the regional difference in ADV fees, so what I think I'll do is just use the zip code for the area in question and use their ADV fee (which is still $610 for the NJ dealer in question). Fuel will remain an extra that the dealer should provide (even though most don't apparently).

I just ordered mine last night. Paid invoice plus Fuel, ADV, and Destination. I also got
42K on my 2011 with 32K miles as a trade in. It was a no brainer. With a quarter point less in interest and what I owed, my payments dropped $132 per month and a new SCrew. No money down on either truck. I was told to keep it under 36K miles, so I will need to take the bus to keep it under.

Hard to complain with that deal! I guess the Raptor is holding it's value pretty good LOL!

I have a great contact at John Lance Ford in Cleveland. Barb Johnson [email protected] and is willing to deal on a new Raptor, so I wanted to pass it along. Her number is 440-871-8600. She is off on Fridays. She was extremelly responsive and as mentioned willing to give a great deal. Let me know how it works for anyone that contacts her. She treated me great!
