Busa, that basically how it works on the SHO. Never need to use the Key as long as the FOB in your pocket. The door will automatically unlock and just press the start button when you're ready. The only down fall I had with the system, is that I'll never remember the KeyPad combo, cause you'll hardly ever use it, except for the last two buttons to lock the vehicle. So I stored the keypad combo in my phone.

Where can you find the combination code if you buy a used ford vehicle? I've heard it's stamped into the ECM but that could be total bs and i'd never know it. I have two friends who bought used vehicles (a windstar, and the other an 07 f-150) both have the keypads, and neither know their codes

I would think you could call the Ford dealer with the VIN # and they could get the KeyPad Combo for you. They'll most likely want to verify you are the vehicle owner before they would do so. Give them a call, all they can say is no, or provide directions on how to do so. Good Luck.

When we got your sho used it did not come with the card in the manual with the code so we called around to different dealers and found one that would look up the code on the ecu for us for free. ( 3 out of 4 dealers wanted $50, MF's it took 2 min). Then when I got my truck I set my code to the same as her's.
