Does anyone know why the raptor does have the option to start it without the key?

Because it's a great thing to have! You can start the truck 10 minutes before you go out side so the engine is warmed up and the temp inside the cab is warmed up or cooled down by the time you get out there.

Oh and the funniest thing is when you start it in front of someone looking at it. The shock on their face is priceless.

Oh and just to let you know even after you remote start it you still need the key to drive it. Plus to remote start it you have to lock it first.

When it's 105 degrees in the middle of August here in Texas, I'm going to love having the remote start to help cool the cab down before I get out there.

I think he means Comfort Access like BMW. You just keep the FOB in your pocket and when you touch the door handle it unlocks and once you're in, you just push start to start the engine.

I never once took my BMW key out of my pocket for anything. it's pretty convenient.

Or a windchill factor of negative 20 in the middle of February here in Colorado... entering a toasty cab is definitely appreciated.

^^ All the above, PLUS it's nice to be able to start the vehicle and then a few minutes later just get in and drive it without the fear of excessive wear and tear due to a cold engine. You don't know what you're missing until you get to use it.

Noah is working on a similar mod to retrofit a raptor with. He's been pretty busy so I'm not sure of the status on it.
