im coming through in a couple monthsI want an aftermarket alarm system but I don't want someone chopping up my harness with those damn 3M scotch-lok connectors. I assume the Ford upgraded security package is a total joke.

I have found that the factory alarm does not arm if you lock the doors with the lock button on the door. It only arms when you use the keyfob to lock the door.

alarm systems dont have a glass breakage sensor. its only available in the aftermarket world as an add on to an aftermarket systemsomeone broke into my Raptor this week and stole my radar detector. They broke the passenger door window and the alarm never went off???
the only problem is that the shock sensor is probably too sensitive at that point. also, i can break a window on a vehicle with less force than needed to set off a shock sensor. the shock sensor is designed to detect impacts to the body and frame, not so much the glass. the glass sensor is a microphone that picks up the sound frequency of breaking glass and will be the most reliable part. While I do not have a glassbreak sensor, the shock sensor on the Ford Vehicle Security System add-on module would likely set the alarm off if a window is broken. I have set it off on myself when washing the truck if one of the windshield wipers gets knocked down onto the windshield.
