Well, waffled back and forth whether to go. Lost opportunity with Gen2 mainly due to COVID. Booked today for April 2-3, 2023. Driving up from NM and staying in town (Toole) not the recommended hotel. Getting excited as taking extra time to head over to the salt flats and explore the area.

Have a great time! Report back on any off road stuff you do in the area. I'll be there in June for my second time. Really looking forward to it!

I’m in Phx, and stopped in Moab for a night. Was so badass. Liked it more than RA lol

Did you do any trails in your Raptor in Moab? I'm going there after RA again. I was there in 2020, but didn't do any trails in my Raptor. We rented a side by side instead.
I was alone, so I didn’t want to do anything crazy. I did the Shafer trail up to CanyonLands National Park. It was an awesome trail that even some smaller suvs can do. Awesome sights. Highly recommend it. I was only there one night, so I didn’t look up any other trails.

I was thinking of doing also (will be alone) no concerns doing Shafer trail solo?

Nah, not at all. It’s a very tame trail. I had my recovery boards, but I do wish I had a compressor to air down a bit. But it’s a very scenic drive. The switchbacks were pretty nuts. I went up the switchbacks to the park. You can go either way

Depends on how much you stop to get out and check out the sights. But there’s no way in hell it takes 8 hrs. But keep in mind, some spots I was seeing what the truck could do at higher speeds so it didn’t take me long at all. There’s other trails out there, so maybe that’s what the book is taking into account? 2 hrs tops, plus any time you take in CanyonLands. There’s YouTube videos of Shafer that will take you on the whole ride
