Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face! Dont let your frustration get the better of you. You would lose thousands of dollars between shipping costs and trade in value, and for what? To teach Ford a lesson? Trust me, they could give a shit if you go buy a Jeep instead instead of a Raptor. You would just be punishing yourself. I waited over 4 months for my Raptor and it has been worth every minute of that long wait!

Ditto on this

I'm not getting into a pissing match with fellow Raptor owners...saving that energy for Ford. The bottom line is this: I already said in this thread that the clock is ticking the other way since my delivery got pushed back AGAIN. My dealer even advised me to complain...so why dont some of you guys give me a break! I could be acting like a moron and calling Ford but Im not. Members are commenting so I am replying.

I've got a defense for everything raised against me, but I'm too tired to give a damn. I've decided no more of my life will be wasted on things that have not happened or wont. All I can say is....the dealer AND Ford will know my actual thoughts and what I intend to do--soon enough. Let's just hope the Truck arrives this week.

*The sad part is (and I mean it) the luster is officially gone. This weekend I've thought thru my position (just the Raptor, forget my personal life! HA) and my little kid desire to own it is gone. Partly bc its turned into the biggest headache and also b/c I dont like the way Ford is running their outfit. So I really am not proud to be a Ford owner. Nor am I excited to pick up my ride after I bust my ass just to get to the dealership (again, thanks to Ford SoCal dealers).

Ford is failing left and right--even their dealers are admitting same and/or saying same about the lack of info Ford/regional reps "provide".

I just hope America's overall ****** economic position isn't the reason for Ford's overall decline (just like so many other american companies). If members want to help me/us....Please dont re-elect OBAMA! Ur an IDIOT and deserve to be banished to China forever if you do.

Have a nice Sunday!

We're not bustin' your balls or anything. Just giving you our advice from our experience. The wait was worth it. I could have waited longer but would I want to? No, but I'm sure it'd still be worth it.

This is a special vehicle but it's still a full production vehicle (not really limited). Yes, it's pretty BS that they're holding your truck... i.e. lost it, hasn't shipped, whatever the cause may be...

But the wait isn't that much further out from now. 1 week or 2 weeks or even a month... What's that compared to a lifetime of ownership and joy? (Considering you're planning on keeping it for quite a while).

Everyone on this forum wishes you well. Stay strong. Hang on tight. And don't lose faith.

I agree with you 100% on this point! And I wish you all the best. Maybe you could do like others on this forum and parlay your inconvenience into an extended warranty or service agreement. I assure you that when you do get your Raptor, all of your anguish will fade away.:waytogo:

Thank You. I do appreciate saying my situation and/or opinion and not getting bashed for it. It would be a pretty weak forum if that was the case aka a lot like other forumz.

I'm giving Ford ONE LAST CHANCE to un-**** the situation. Sorry for the F bomb but I am obviously upset and out of patience. So long as I get my truck next week + I can tag it same day + no issues like coolant spilage/other in the first 2 weeks....my faith will slowly begin to rebuild in Ford.

*Until then.......FAIL. The Mustang had a nic-name in HS. We use to call it the Ford Mustake! The Raptor now has one as well. Instead of the "SVT Raptor"....I'm calling it the "SOL Rapture" b/c it feels like the end of the world and shit out of luck both at the same time!!

Why not just buy one off of someones lot? There are plenty of 2012 Raptors sitting at dealerships right now. Some of these waiting times are ridiculous. Ford needs to get there shit together. 4-5 months for a truck thats literally made a few states away from the factory is inexcusable. I received my BMW M3 from germany in 5.5 weeks.

I went through the same thing when I ordered my '06 SRT8 Jeep, it sat on a lot until a girl in customer service went above and beyond to get it shipped. I ended up waiting an extra month and a half and once it was delivered it was worth the wait. I agree it is frustrating but once you get the truck the wait will out of your mind and you will love your Raptor, I'm lucky enough to drive my brothers occasionally to ease the wait. As for the new SRT8 it's almost 70k and after owning an '11 Jeep Overland I wouldn't even think about getting the SRT, there is just no driving enjoyment in the larger size and more rattles than anything I have owned before.

Id be happy to post the dealer but at this point it doesnt matter. My salesmen wrote me a long email, out of the blue at the end of today, explaining the situation.

He said the shipping co. didnt have any record of my VIN on their lot...so maybe it is still on rail?

He also said his regional rep was basically no good aka wont call him/the dealership back.

My salesmen even advised me to file a complaint with Ford and list their dealership...just so we can get some action.

Guys, what Ford is doing with these trucks is ********.

PS-I honestly would advise anyone who was thinking of special ordering a Raptor to wait until Summer (Only 5 months away-HA) and buy a 2012 Raptor from your local dealer who is looking to actually sell the truck by offering it at invoice. Plus, you can buy it same day and/or have it shipped same week from another dealer via dealer trade! 1 week and @ invoice vs 4 months and no deal....Im so stupid. I'm officially pissed off.

i just drove my raptor up from redlands ford, they did a killer job and got me a killer price (500 over invoice). Good folks, and i got to watch 4 other raptors go off into the distances with their new owners. (mine was of course the best/fastest of the bunch!).

Its odd as well since my truck showed up a week earlier then it was supposed to (ford shipped it out faster?!?!?!) Sucks that you got the shorter end of the stick, but i will say this. IT WAS WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!! Did about 900+ miles in he maiden voyage yesterday and the truck is just an amazing cruiser! Cant wait to bomb down some fire roads in this beast. Given where you live, this truck will be WELL WORTH the pain/wait/frustration. I am actually jealous you live in such perfect raptor country. :(

All good encouragement but also good critics as well.

When you look at how long it takes the line in Dearborn to build the Raptor vs how long it takes from Order officially being submitted (dont kid ourselves, our order date wasnt the beginning...most of us should start from the date we seriously started building the truck with salesman) till delivery takes on average 14-20 weeks. That is to long for any type of purchase ie car, house, lawn mower, cheese crackers etc.

Some of my vehicle wait times:
-'00 WS6 Trans-Am Ram Air Black w/tan interior, loaded, Custom Order early September and received early October. 1 month!
-'00 R/T Durango, bought off lot
-'07 Audi RS4, took 2 months/built in germany by GmbH/one of the first to arrive in USA....2 months door to door.
-08 SRT Jeep....lucked out in early August ;07 b/c there was an '07 black on the showroom floor BUT A STEEL BLUE '08 DEALER MODEL STILL WRAPPED IN PLASTIC IN BACK AKA LUCKED OUT
'12 Raptor @ 12 weeks and STILL COUNTING.

Ford is simply running, like every other biz in America, on a single shoe string. One mis-calculation or error could tank it...especially since the Fed doesnt own any of Ford. This is another reason I went from Chrysler to Ford aka no Govt bailout!!

I dont want to harm Ford (Good ole American Co) I want to help. But they need to know this is unacceptable. If they cant speed it up, atleast invest in some sort of exclusive Raptor tracking site so those with orders + dealers can visually track the status like a PIzza and even if sitting on a yard...we would know and it would shut us up and/or help us in our defense to DO SOMETHING!

This delay all goes back to my Obama comment earlier which I would like to stay reserved on since this is a vehicle forum and not politics. However, I will say this as a Free/Proud American--American companies cannot keep up with demand like the old days because no company can stock decent inventory's (or staff) and still keep the doors open.

Further, there is no confidence left in America to over stock or stock n general as 95% of folks/their busines's are either operating day to day or week to week. Its sad and must change. Otherwise we will be limited in our persuits but unlimited in our efforts, depressed as an economy, stagnant retail market, fully Govt Dependent 18-28 age range, small biz almost disappear and the dollar turn to dust.

Just look at their (Fed) botched solar and eco investments with the last one to go down this past week ie "Ener1" aka the Chevy Volt battery maker! If the USA would have bought into these idiotic plans themselves....the companies would still be broke yet SO WOULD WE! That was the plan in '08 dudes, thankfully we weren't that stupid as a nation (nor did we have the funds). But we will be in deepp doo doo if we re-do it again this year.

Sorry for the rant but I feel it is relative to the Raptor delay in the grand scheme of it all. Ford would probably tell you the same and could since the Fed dosnt own them BUT--Ford must "Appear strong when weak & Appear weak when storng".
