Escorts 9500ci is being installed in my Raptor today. Already have it in two other cars, my new favorite detector. especially for laser shifting.

****** 9500ci's are definitely an upgrade since they ditched the ZR4 shifters for the Laser ShifterPros (re-badged Laser Interceptors). It should take care of about 90% of the laser you encounter. Just make sure that when you get tagged that you slow down and kill the jammers so they can get a speed reading, especially if you driving through Irving. Irving PD is the department that got the state legislature to outlaw jammers and they have written quite a few tickets for them.

Post pictures of where/how they mounted them as well. I'm curious to see the placement.

i'll have some great pics. the location for the front sensors is pretty cool.

i have found on my others that when you get within about 400 feet even with the shifters they can get a lock on, so I've avoided about a dozen or so tickets in my other cars, and nobody has pulled me yet for it.

Depending on the gun used and the jammers installed, it can vary. I would still recommend killing your jammers after slowing down to the speed limit; they won't even give you a second look that way. But hey, to each their own.

[MENTION]@TheCarStereoCompany[/MENTION], what's the process for changing the jammers from active to passive on the 9500ci? Is it to just double tap the center button on the control module?

you can turn the shifters off in the option menu. the can be set to off, receive only, and shifting. if they are set to shifting, once you get hit with lidar, you double tap the mute button on the control module and the shifters shut off for 60 seconds. after that, they reactivate automatically. i use it quite often

Just ordered an ****** Passport (the new one, not the Max or Max2) from Radar Busters (Radar Roy). Used a coupon code for a 10% off and it worked like a charm. Also ordered the BlendMount and Mirror Tap from Mike at J28 Design. Hopefully everything will be here before a big road trip in two weeks.

Thanks for this forum for help with this choice. I was going to go with the Max or Max2, but just couldn't justify the higher cost. I don't use it often enough to need the Redline or V1 and I really don't care for the cosmetic appeal of either. The Passport looks really slick and I actually prefer the all-black look of the Passport over the Max or Max2.

I'll post pics of it here once it's installed.

I can't find my multi-meter and want to install my radar detector this evening using the mirror tap. Anyone know what color wires on the mirror plug are the 12V+ and ground wires on a 2014? Are they consistent year-to-year, or does Ford like to change it up to keep things interesting?

Edit: I have researched online and could only find a 2011 F-150 (non-Raptor) with the same rear-view mirror. The 12V+ lead was green/purple (Pin position 1) and ground was black (Pin position 4). It just so happens that I have the same color wires in the same pin positions, so I am inclined to believe that those are correct, but would love another opinion.

Funny story - my meter was out, too. Just plugged the ground into the black and the power into another one (maybe red or yellow - lol) and it worked. I don't think you can mess anything up with the detectors as they have internal surge protectors. I got lucky - maybe you will as well.....
