"there's only so many" applies to something that was built in the past and no longer built. The R is a current production vehicle that they produce more of everyday.
It's that mentality that has driven up prices the past 3 yrs.

if they were easy to get, there would be one or more on every dealer lot.. there is not.

the R package is pretty exclusive, and yes its still in very limited production.. doesn't mean that any body can walk into a dealer and get one within a day or two.. there arent any trucks sitting around..

i don't agree with the dealer markups, its a gouge on their part, but these trucks simply are not to be found at MSRP unless you are someone like Cleetus McFarland that brought a big advertising aspect to the dealer where he got his truck, on referral from Vaugn Gittin jr..

how many R models do you suppose have been built each year? i think its less than 3000 units and that is very low production numbers for a very desirable truck, even at $110k..

What has changed in the past 5 yrs besides peoples level of gluttony?
If people would refuse to buy from dealers with high ADM there wouldnt be this issue.
It's not bread and water to survive. It's an overpriced truck people want to show off to their buddies.
I can name plenty of vehicles that were built in the 100s and still sat on lots years ago so thousands sounds like there's plenty to go around. Im willing to bet a good percentage will be repo'd in the first year.

there has always been markups when new raptors came along going back to 2010... big markups when the gen2s came out..

why would this low production 700hp truck be any dfferent??

your view of overpriced is your opinion also.. i think its a pretty good deal at msrp for what you're getting compared to the competition..

they build about 25k raptors total per year, so if 3k of those are R models, its very exclusive...

It’s a current production vehicle with a very, very limited lifespan, and at this point it’s got production numbers along the lines of a limited run “homologation model” - something that’s produced solely to make the manufacturer eligible for some competition.
Only there’s no competition class for the RR. With prod #’s this low, there’s no chance retail prices will come down.

Obviously the china virus shutdowns are still rippling through Ford and Ford’s QC has a taken a huge hit across all models, Raptors included.

Exactly, and Ford is talking out of both sides of their mouths publicly saying they will withhold F/P allocations for ADM chargers, but these same stealerships end up with multiple F/P models year, after, year after year.

So they have an asset that people want and want a lot.
One of two things will happen.
1) production will stabilize to normal levels making a modest - 5-10k overcharge more likely for the few MY left
2) RR production will dwindle away driving prices up further and they’ll eventually drop it.

The desperate, almost comical push to immature EV technology is costing Ford money hand over fist and is expected to for years to come and they’re banking that battery tech will improve enough to make the low range tolerable. If Ford continues to spend money developing this tech to a fool’s errand, there won’t be good money left for Ford Performance to put out stuff that people actually want.

I can see Rs being at 110k in six months.
Thoughts?
Predicting is hard. Especially about the future. I could make an argument for under $100k and and equally compelling argument for over $200k. If I had to actually bet my own money, I'd bet that ADM for the R will still be firmly in place six months from now. But it's a guess.

Yes markups that subsided over time when the nuance faded. Just like anything else.
People used to have common sense but the new stupid is .."it's the current market".
The consumer controls the market and as long as there are dolts overpaying then it will remain.

Overpriced is not an opinion when some people are able to get them from MSRP and others are paying 25-50k more. That sir is a mathematical fact.

Again in the past there have been models that were made in the 100s and still sat on lots until their pricing became more reasonable or discounted. If you cant buy an R you have a TRX or a non-R. There are plenty of options. Im sure the neighbor wont think less of you because you decided to buy the non-R. God forbid.

I disagree unless they ramp up production, there's going to be a high demand and therefore adm..

do you know anyone getting carbon fiber track pack gt500s for under or close to the msrp? My local dealer has a heritage model with a $40k markup.. it's been there awhile but someone will buy it I'm sure... same animal...

I'm not an R buyer even at msrp.. also I'm not buying anything to compete with neighbors.. I bought the truck to do adventures, and that's what I'm doing

29 R's sitting on Manheim right now. Multiple R's on Craigslist for 150,000. Production is picking up and sales prices are dropping. Notice no one has done a bringatrailer no reserve auction since May 8th...

A nation wide search has 250+ Rs listed either on dealer lots or en route, most still asking 50k plus ADM, missed one that popped up 2 days ago that I didn’t have time to call on, it was listed and sold for 13k ADM / $125k total… I should have called when I first saw it. Oh well.

I think the 23MY are about to flood the market and you might find a few decent deals on any left on lots after ford officially announced the 24MY pricing/ changes / opens order banks.
