Just to confirm, the removal of the bed extender is simple, right? Just the two Torx bolts? Nothing crazy like having to remove some sort of backing, etc. Remove the two bolts and it comes right out, put it back in by putting the two bolts back (T50 Torx).

I'm going to be pulling mine out to try out this bed tent I bought.

Yep, one 50 torx on each side...

I just got a bed extender and trying to install. I have the spray in liner and am having issues installing the bolts. Are they supposed to be tight to the plastic? Is the plastic washer supposed to be between the bed and extender or bolt and extender? I think yhe threads in the hole had spray in material but i cleaned it out and the bolt cant go in any further. Is the bolt the same length for all f150s? I have a 2013 and it came from a non raptor 2013.

I can't speak for anything other than my bolts were in there tighter than a ****. I really had to crank down to get them off and they were like that the entire way.

The 4 plastic pieces are for above and below where the actual extender locks into place. Idt you'd need them, they just create a more snug fit and probably prevent wear.

Is the plastic washer on the inside?

I don't remember a plastic washer. The bolts didn't even come out of the bed extender if I remember correctly.

This is what i was calling the washer its actually a plastic sleeve. I cant tighten the bolt all the way. It sticks out like .5 inch. Will the bushings make up for that?

Can someone post a pic up close looking at the point of contact between the bolt and the extender and another between the extender and the bed at the connection please.

I will check tomorrow and see if I had any plastic bushing on mine. Sorry I can't help with the picture. My bed extender came off pretty soon after I got the truck and it is in my basement now. I will check the parts for you but it won't be until sometime tomorrow.

From what I could find online, that plastic sleeve goes in between the bed and the bed extender with the larger diameter side on the bed. I also found Ford's installation instructions which were probably the worst installation instructions I've ever seen.
