Holy hell! I didn’t know that! I was going to go with the extra coverage for 7yrs if anything went wrong.

Any extended warranty you purchase through Ford still only covers OEM components, not anything that's been modified by Rocky Ridge. They literally throw all of Ford's engineering out the window and install a bunch of aftermarket parts to make money for themselves and the dealer. They buy and install the aftermarket parts, sell it to the dealer at a profit, and the dealer then sells it to you at a profit. Then when something goes wrong, and it will, you're stuck in the middle of who is going to pay for the repairs.

If you can still back out, do it. Let these 3rd party hack upfitters die off.

My neighbor is looking at a 2019 leftover new Rocky Ridge truck for $75K, MSRP is $86K. I’m doing my best to talk him out of it. I didn’t realize the warranty issue, I’ll pass that into on to him.

I’ve never heard of Rocky Ridge Raptors until now. That said, I’d definitely go with a stock Raptor any day.

Sorry but it is better to find out now than later. I wouldn’t spend the money for a tuscany shelby either.

Even more confusing is the factory warranty check mark on their website:

https://www.rockyridgetrucks.com/f-150-raptor-k2

Well it's not wrong. I'm sure that truck does come with a factory warranty, just as FTO explained, only on what's left that hasn't been modded by Rocky Ridge. Or they are just saying it's a "factory warranty" from the Rocky Ridge factory for *** number of miles on their components. Either way, it's technically not false advertising, just not giving the consumer all of the information as to what the warranty is or covers.

It's just like dealerships that state their vehicles come with a "lifetime warranty" but don't tell you that's only if you do all of the scheduled maintenance through their dealership.

Im not intending to bash Rocky ridge but this was my experience. I once bought a rocky ridge Silverado LTZ Z71 from my local Chevy dealer. Less than a month after purchase I developed a terrible vibration and wobble in steering column. It started around 45mph and only got worse the faster I went.

Took back to dealership. They checked wheels, road force balanced tires, and tightened a "loose" bolt on lift per their service manager. Needless to say it did nothing and vibration and wobble still present. Dealership contacted rocky ridge for troubleshooting and insight with their lift/product. They basically washed their hands of the truck and said that it was on the dealership to service and maintenance the vehicle.

After that the dealer had my truck for several weeks trouble shooting, replacing parts, etc and could not figure out or remedy the problem. All the costs were eaten by dealership as chevy would not cover under warranty bc of alterations from rocky ridge and rocky ridge didnt provide assistance with their product. After some minor fussing I had it bought back.

The dealership has never purchased another rocky ridge after that experience. There seems to be ALOT of rocky ridge conversions on smaller privately owned used lots around here but you never see them on the lot at the big dealerships new or used.

My cousin owns one of those used lots and says he sees them at auction all the time! He won't buy them bc of my experience.

That was also the point in my life that I said I would never buy a vehicle with an aftermarket package like that. They overcharge. You could have a reliable shop do the same for much less money. And at the end of the day, you lose ur A$$ if you trade bc when they run the VIN its just the stock truck to them and the bank. You may get them to throw an extremely small fraction of extra money at you but its pennies compared to the upcharge of the package.

At the end of the day its your choice and if you love the truck then do what makes you happy. But I would personally buy a stock raptor, save the cash, grab a tune from goose and modify as you want for much less!

I considered an SCA raptor at one point during my search, went to a local dealer and saw one that was discounted by $15k (brand new). This was back when raptors were selling for a premium. They look awesome in pictures. But when I saw it at the dealership, my first question to them was, can you remove the 4 inch lift? When they said no, I walked away.

At the end of the day, it’s about what you want, if you like a lifted raptor then go for it. I opted for a stock raptor eventually, because I trust ford engineers more than SCA’s techs to determine the optimal configuration for the truck to get the best handling out of it.

Anywho, congrats on your purchase.
