Was just about to purchase a 2018 Ford Raptor, red in color, 17,000 mi. It was the top end package I guess. They were asking 61,500 for it. Seemed a bit too high to me I offered him 58. What do y'all think about that deal?

I ran the value across Kelley Blue book. Honestly they were asking fair market value, but I'm a negotiator I don't like paying fair market value. I might go 59k. Or I told them I would go 62k if they gave me 5k trade in on my truck, which they opted to offer me $1,500 for. Lol

If they take your offer, that's a pretty good deal. But for the original price of $62K, why buy someone's used vehicle when you can spend a few grand more to have a brand new one?

Hello gentleman and ladies,

So I have been doing copious amounts of research and am now leaning towards a low mileage 1st generation Raptor. I am hoping to find the truck under 40k, preferably 35k, then I want to get started off with a few customizations. I have heard that Long-tube headers add 20-30 HP to this motor, is that the case? I am also trying to decide on replacing the shocks, since they likely will be worn, with upgraded double bypass shocks. Then an RCI skid plate and front bumper replacement.

The only thing I am concerned about is the unknowns, things that might need work and or replacement, are there any particular components on the 1st generation that I should look into replacing right away? Steering components, suspension, etc?

my gen1 is for sale...

and it has a 20pg build thread that will answer 98% of the unknown concern you could have with buying a used vehicle.
