I did not have to lift the transmission to install this pan. I would assume that this would work for a gen 3, however I'd reach out to PML to see is they've had any fitment issues. The only issue with the deep pan is the factory skid plates don't fit. I installed a set of the ford performance skid plates and had no issues with clearance.
