I've measured how much capacity I have...

I run my generals at 40 psi usually. When I off-road, I air down to 25 psi, then air back up to 40psi when I'm done.

It takes almost exactly 1/2 pound for each tire to go from 25-40 psi on a 35" general. I could do 30 tires that way with one bottle, or 7 off-road trips! I love this thing... worth the money, high quality!

Guys, so sorry to bring a thread back from the dead, but I'd like to get your opinions.

I won a 50% off certificate for a Powertank at the GLRE Snoball. I've seen guys with 10# tanks but everyone is like "get the 20# tank". Problem with the 20# is that PT doesn't have a mounting bracket and doesn't make a fancy padded nylon case for it. The 20# is only 6 inches longer than the 10#.

I'm leaning towards the 15# tank. I plan on getting an electric impact wrench (milwaukee) so I won't plan on using the PT for an air powered impact. I really just want it for filling tires. I'd like to be able to mount it horizontally in the bed above the wheel well if that's possible.

Any thoughts, opinions, concerns? Again, sorry for bringing this back.

I have a 10# tank (different brand). If you can get the mount to work for the larger size, do it. The relatively small delta cost between the sizes makes it worth going to the larger size. I know I wish I had the bigger tank.

Bed space turns into a premium real quick so I personally prefer the more compact sizes.

Damn that was a cool setup on the old truck. Might have to replicate it!
