Had a similar situation with tranny fluid leak. Took it in to Ford dealer, not same one i bought from, and the tech noticed transmission fluid leak. The looked it up and on some of the trucks, they have a problem with a supplier's hydraulic pump case or seal failure. The pump that supplies the torque converter. The service writer contacted Ford, was fixed under warranty, no charge. As i recall, they have to drop the transmission to get to the pump, but don't quote me on it. It took a couple of days, though. And I think there is a TSB on it.
We then marched out and bought the Ford warranty through 100K miles with $100 deductable.
Last time i took the truck in for oil change, they noticed the high pressure power steering hose leaking at the fitting. This was replaced under the Premium Care plan for $100 and included parts, labor and rental car. Also had the 110 volt plug replaced in the console under same deductable.
So far, very pleased with Ford service, they told me of both issues. We are also happy with the Ford warranty so far and keeping a tally to see when it pays for it self.
