Same. Except former tundra owner. I’m ready to deal with a little less reliability and a little more tech and capability. But the fact I only drive about 6000 miles/year, I’m not too concerned.

I hear you. I have driven Tacoma’s since 2006. Except for normal maintenance they have been bulletproof.

I have always aspired to own a Raptor so I will be making the leap to a 2022 when they become available. I like the changes Ford engineers made “under the skin” of the new Raptor this year. The brand new rear suspension and 4-mode exhaust that actually sounds good are my top two favorites.

Cmon guys. Toyotas have problems too. My rav4 needs water pumps religiously every 60k. And let’s not forget the exploding airbags, sticking accelerators, frames rusting in half. I loved my 4runner. Great vehicle, but I also loved my JLUR wrangler, and I’m looking forward to the 3rd Gen raptor (if it ever shows up).

They don’t have many problems same as tundra cuz they’re 20 year old designs that they keep tweaking. If they are tasked w/ designing an important halo vehicle from the ground up they just pi$$ their pants & call BMW bahahajjahajaj

Back to OP’s issue. I know PDI doesn’t check every, single, solitary thing, but I’m thinking that lead should have been evident at the stealership. Unless it only had a mile on it or something insignificant.

OP: Did you test drive and then re-check the truck? The Rap makes this easy, since you can actually see underneath and granted the skid plates could cause some interference but you can see on top of the front one.

This looks like it would’ve been a challenge to catch though.

Yes I did take it for a good test drive. I didn't notice anything at the dealer. Honestly, getting a new vehicle, didn't even think to look for leaks. My drive home from the dealer was about an hour. So that was a good drive where if something was loose, that drive could have made it even worse. I did, take some pictures when I got home and didn't notice anything in the pictures I took. This is a good lesson for everybody. Drive it. Check it, and then check it again.
The skid plates made it really hard to track down where it was coming from. I think I found it, but couldn't really get to it without removing the skid plate. I will have to wait to see what the dealer says.

This type of thing makes we weary about jumping from a Tacoma to a 2022 Raptor.

You should stick with Toyota if a fluid leak bothers you.
God forbid you buy a truck that has capabilities Toyota can’t even spell and then have it drip fluid.
Toyota had you in mind when they designed all of their appliances.., I mean vehicles

The BlueCruise system functions on two levels currently, without paying the 600$ fee the lane keep assist will maintain the truck in the lane but you havee to keep you hands on the wheel, hence you warning telling you to put a hand on the wheel. When you activate the full BlueCruise with the fee it allows you to take your hands off the wheel and makes the cameras facing the driver functional for maintaining focus on the road ahead. You should be able to disable these safety systems in the menus somewhere, I can on my Fusion by hitting a button to turn off lane keeping and the auto cruise control, but why would you want to disable helpful safety features. I know first hand they can help prevent an accident
