I agree it’s time for a new thread.

Some key new features.

Voice commands! You heard me right.

New modern hardware that runs the tablet with the modern speed and fluidity you’d expect.

360 Camera button working as expected.

Updated Bluetooth 5.

New microphone for cleaner Bluetooth calls.

Overall software optimizations including a “custom slot” in the top launcher bar to assign an app.

Improved WiFi speed and connectivity.

Cleaner sound from the tablet without any stumbling from streaming music services., including Tidal in Master quality mode.

Does that mean that we don’t know if it’s working, or it’s just not working yet?

I should clarify for folks who haven’t followed from the beginning of the px3.

Sync 3 and “Phoenix tablet” are separate entities. The Phoenix tablet passes thru the sync 3 device on to you, the end user. Think of the Phoenix like a TV and the sync 3 like a cable box or a FIOS set top box.

So everything you have with your factory sync system works exactly as it would in your OEM configuration.

The “Phoenix Tablet” adds a fully functional android tablet to your truck with WiFi, internet (you need a hotspot) YouTube, streaming music, and whatever else you can dream up. I open my garage doors, have my Ring doorbell app installed, home security cams, a work VPN, etc.

The Phoenix tablet also provides a 12.1 inch screen with touch controls for all your HVAC, volume, radio controls.

It integrates seamlessly into your existing radio harnesses in a plug and play fashion, with integration into your factory canbus system.

So to answer your original question, CarPlay works perfectly thru sync 3 thru the original factory USB port. There are no issues.

What isn’t working yet for me is CarPlay going thru the TABLET USB port to have CarPlay directly thru the Phoenix Device in “full screen”. It’s not clear if it is related to just my iPhone devices, just my tablet, or if it is a “bug” because as of now, I’m one of the only people testing for them. As more folks start to install and report back, we will find out if it’s a bug or something on my end.

Sounds like the new cable is the biggest win... Are they including it on all new tablets? I saw on the other thread that they aren't available. I'm going to jump on this when I can order the latest with the longer cable.

i explained my Phoenix screen to a friend, as an android Smart TV with apps for your truck. Still passes through Sync3 like normal, but you can launch apps from the "Smart TV" portion

I did a recent exchange from the PX3 to the PX6, and at the time of my order (last week) they estimated it’d be 2weeks for the new units to be shipped with the cable fix. I asked them to not ship until it included the longer cable.....I’ll report back here when I receive it.

Seriously thinking about ordering one of these. My truck is less than a month old though, so it feels like I should take a little more time and prioritize my upgrade plans. At the very least I should wait till the next holiday discount is available.

A few questions concerns I have. First, it looks as though the PX6 is locked in to android version 8.1. That's not a big problem by itself, but eventually, apps will stop supporting that version of software. I wouldn't even care about that, but since I'll likely use streaming and other cloud based apps, it means some apps will simply stop working. Will Phoenix provide an upgrade path or will the tablet become practically obsolete in a few years?

Next question, has anyone used the table with Amazon? I primarily use Amazon music as my streaming service, although I'm open to switching if it makes sense. I also use Alexa rather extensively, and would love it if the tablet can be setup with Amazon as the default voice assistant.

Speaking of voice control, I've seen it mentioned a couple times. Is the voice control limited to that provided by Ford/Sync 3? Does it use the Google Home voice assistant? Does it depend on what the current focus is? Does it work by using a wake word, pressing the voice button, or both?

Does anyone have any pics of what the top relocated buttons look like? I haven't seen any. I do use the camera button quite frequently, is it still convenient to use?

As I said before, I suppose I need to spend more learning what the existing system can do before I pull the trigger. Although as pointed out, the aesthetic appeal of the tablet almost makes it worth it right there, and you don't lose any functionality that you currently have.
