No, you're not alone. I dont know how they could fix that, as I believe the steering wheel controls are hardwired into the Sync system, and not the android.

It only has this issue with YT music or all music apps running thru the android screen?

So far all music apps I have tried.

Spotify
Pandora
YT music

The skips to next or previous song works but also causes the audio source to go back to the console and it goes to the next or previous saved preset.

I think your best bet is to run any music apps with CarPlay our Android Auto through Sync. Or just adjust to using on screen controls to skip songs. Should be a lot better experience with the faster hardware. The PX3 is just too damned laggy.

Out of curiosity, what audio source does sync use when playing audio from the tablet? To clarify what I mean, you normally would have the options for audio source in sync of AM, FM, Sirius XM, CD, Bluetooth, and probably something I'm forgetting. When you enable Android Auto or Carplay, those are added as sources as well. Through AppLink, you can add sources like Ford+Alexa.

I would guess that PA can't do anything about skip cause the source to skip since it's out of their hands so to speak. Unless they can make the Sync believe it's a different source type...one where skip is internal to the source. For example, if Sync saw the PX6 as a bluetooth source, then it would just pass the skip command on and not skip sources.

I figure anyway.

I pulled the trigger AGAIN. Ordered the PX6.

1. Will the existing wiring from the px3 plug in to the px6 (minus the short sync cable of course)
2. I take it we are to mount the module opposite of the px3 with the longer sync cable.
3 Is there any difference in the little boxes (can bus I believe)

Nerdless1,

1. Based on a FB conversation with one of their guys, the harnesses are the same. Since I determined that a couple f the wires on my "PX6" harness were not the same and it gave me all kinds of issues, I used my PX3 harness and they are sending me a replacement so I can have to complete working units.

2. The module on the back is installed the same way it is on the factory setup but with 2 out the 3 bolts installed instead. The longer cable easily reaches now.

3. I tried both canbus boxes. One I updated with the latest simplecan update then I tried the other one with no noticeable issues but I updated it as well just in case. I don't remember what it was supposed to fix right now.

I am wondering what those of us who have the PX3 units will end doing with them? Too bad there was not a trade up program.

Just FYI.

The song skip issues are not present on the Sony system. I tried all the apps and it only skips songs and doesn’t glitch back to the sync source.

I am using latest MCU and canbus. There is an MCU update out there you should install.
