Just as an FYI

The longer cable and flipping the sync 3 module over does correct the factory nav.

The thing is darn near perfect. They sent me another update and smoothed out a couple more kinks.

I didn't see a negative aspect to the statement you quoted.

I have no doubt that the thing is going to have some weird bugs/quirks to it. It's just a given considering that it's not backed by a billion dollar company with an army to do QA, and developed by people in China who likely have different sensibilities about what an interface should look like and the value of various features.

I messaged them via WhatsApp on Monday morning. Had a cable shipped out that afternoon. Fixing factory nav isnt a huge issue, but might as well tear the dash apart once and be done with it.

I think you misread?

At this point.... all elements of the factory sync 3 work exactly as they did stock — including the factory navigation.

All elements of the tablet appear working for me. The steering wheel controls work as expected. The tablet functions as expected. The camera button works as expected with the benefit of a much larger screen for viewing. The streaming music works as expected. Android apps are smooth and trouble free. Navigation in full screen works without glitches. Tablet voice activation works perfectly. Apple car play works! On apple car play when making a call there is a little bit of an echo for the person talking to you. My guess is it’s s microphone feedback thing. I have told them about it.

There really isn’t anything else left I can find that doesn’t work exactly as it should.

Would I like to see improvements? Sure. I’d like a more customizable launcher/interface just to make it more of
My own... but this “4th gen” is lightyears ahead of the px3. It is also light years ahead of the stock screen.

Dang.....well I guess all things considered, its still worth it.

The PX6 retains the stock microphone right? Anyone notice any difference between calls from the Stock 8" unit and the PX6?

That answer should depend on how your phone is connecting to the system. Sync 3 is still intact, so if your phone is connected by bluetooth to sync 3, or usb wired w/android auto or carplay, then you would be using the same mic setup you currently do. I remember @Guy said something about this in this thread or the Gen 3 thread.

On the other hand, if you bluetooth connect your phone to the tablet itself (and I would imagine if you used android auto or carplay to the tablet) then you're going to be using the tablet's mic. I believe in @Guy's post above, he was referring to using carplay through the tablet, not through sync 3, thus you potentially have quirks like the echo that you wouldn't have going through sync 3 directly.

What I'm a little unsure about is how the system reacts when a phone call comes in. If I bluetooth my phone to sync 3, but the tablet's focus is elsewhere (say watching youtube videos full screen) with the focus immediately jump to sync 3 for my phonecall, then jump back when the call is over?

Kind of an aside, but I do think the fact that you could connect one phone to sync 3, and a second phone to the tablet itself, is rather interesting. I carry both a personal phone and a work phone and it would be great to have both connected at the same time. Currently, personal is connected, and receiving a work call means I have to manually turn down the radio and can't utilize hands-free. With this, it shoulldn't be an issue. It would also be useful if you have a spouse or SO who often rides. I think the PX6 can actually support 5 bluetooth connections at a time, so maybe the entire family can use hands-free. Of course, my teenagers don't want their conversations on the speaker, and I don't want to hear it.
