So I pulled the dash back out to fiddle around.

So what do you guys think I did? I’m not seeing an obvious fuse blown. I grabbed the diagram for the lock panel and under the hood.

Did I fry the Bodycontrolmodule?

I'm no mechanic, but looking through the maintenance manual for my truck ('18 Raptor, 802a), I think you hit the nail on the head with the BCM being responsible for those malfunctions.
Fuse location 4 (60A) is for the BCM
Fuse location 25 (50A) is for BCM 1
Fuse location 41 (30A) is for BCM voltage quality module feed
Fuse location 76 (40A) is for BCM 2

You've probably looked into these, but figured I'd pass it along
Hope you're able to resolve it

That’s why I dumped it the dealer. I think the BCM is gone.... which means it needs a new one and they have to use FORD IDS to program it.

It still may be a push fuse. The relay would click when the ignition key button was switched to on. So it’s something beyond the kick panel fuse box I think.

Bcm is still possible... I’m just really surprised that plugging in connectors with the power on is enough to take out a control module. I didn’t see that coming.

Wouldn’t think anything you were doing in that location would cause a 30A fuse to blow without some sparks flying around. Sounds like an anomaly for sure.

It could be a lesser fuse still causing communication errors... but I think I have corrupted software on a major module if I had to guess. Like a windows 98 gone south with the blue screen. I used FORScan to reboot some of the bigger modules and it made no difference.

Moral of the story.

Disconnect the battery terminal when doing radio work. Save yourself the headache. I took one for the team. Again.

I couldn’t fix it with simple trouble shooting and so my skill set isn’t up to speed...

But I would think if the link from the battery to the fuse box went out.... the whole truck would be dead... I have power in some places inside the cab and the truck runs. The “electronics”,
Front windows and doors, locks... are dead.

I haven’t had the best luck with this local dealership but I didn’t feel like towing it a half hour to the next one as I don’t think they are neccessarily any better!

I have plenty of other vehicles to drive.... so I’m whining, but really it’s a first world issue here and I should be grateful this isn’t the transportation I use to care for my family or earn a living or depend upon.
