The ride is noticeably different. Mid perch reduces the roll and nose dive you get with the stock setting. The whole truck feels firmer on turns and while braking.

As for the ride height, I believe it does "look" better even though you only get about 1.25" increase in height. I have bashed in my skid plate even at mid perch. If I were to buy another Raptor, this would be my first mod.

Oh, and it may give you just enough height to squeeze 37" tires in there.

Totally agree Joker. +1

Ok. I'm getting it now. Sounds like mid perch mostly benefits in ride quality and braking. I was just not wanting to have a truck with a noticeably higher front end than the rear. Even Steven is ok.

I've been on all 3 perches...

Stock :
Cons
-nose down, ass up
-nose dives bad under braking
-bashed skid plates
Pros
-good CV joint angles
-won't wear the suspension components quickly

Mid perch
Pros
-almost level look
-more skid plate clearance
-reduced nose dive
Con's
-still not entirely level

Top perch (my current setting)
-bad ass raked "pre-runner" look
-no nose dive
-awesome stance
-almost no chance of bashing the skid plate
-higher approach angle

Con's
-bad CV joint angles

Bottom:

Got featured on method race wheels instagram for my before and after shot I posted. Both pics were on top perch. From stock wheels and general grabber 35's to 315/70r18 toyos and 18x9 method "mesh" race wheels

Another con is too much rebound not enough dampening. It just hops hops and hops. My king 3.0 are 2 inch above what oem top perch is and they don't hop at all I love it

Nice! I can't drop that coinage at the moment but I actually like the compression damping properties. It might just be me but I don't experience any of that really.

Oh man don't start about coinage hahah I just spent so much in the last month rebuilding my truck.
Back on topic. Have you jumped it or go over a big speed bump fast? You'll feel the kick and hop causing steering to swerve a bit. But I agree it looks great top perch for a cheap mod. The biggest issue was the cv joints... After replacing 11 pairs of axles I finally grabbed the bull by the horns and rebuilt my front end drivetrain. It was either that or go back to mid perch on oem shocks which of course was the toughest decision I have ever made and the most expensive lmao

I've been to my family's house in Arizona and been Offroad a lot. Plus I went to TRR 14 and got some big air. Additionally I'm Offroad in our local skyline management area about 3 times a week. Thousands and thousands of acres of challenging turns, twists, varying terrain, jumps, whoops etc. My truck is Offroad alot

Nice!! Good to use the truck what it's meant for. When mine was stock 3 years ago on top perch I felt the hop uncontrollably.but maybe I'm just OCD about it. I don't jump mine or anything. I live in northern ontario it's more slow speed rock trails but i jumped it twice and on landing it was like a bungee cord I hopped like 3 more times after landing hahah

Mid perch had no effect on me with the non-ability to smash even an after-market heavy duty skid plate. If there is a will, there is a way.
