With 2 people, a floor jack, air, a rachet wrench and an hour and a half it was an easy job. The free rental spring compressor from advance auto was very good quality. We had fun doing the adjustment. Without the right tools it would suck. Now I can spend the $250 on the next upgrade.

Swing by our base camp and say hello and I will make sure we get it done for you at the Texas Run.

SWEET!! I might just do that. Sounds like I need to bring more beer...

I wish I had everything you stated above (with me). Living on the road means most of my tools and helper friends are back in Pittsburgh.

You guys are going to be swamped with installs at the run. lol

Hopefully I get there early enough, I won't be last in line.

DONE! My advice is if you can get it done for around $250 w/alinment, do it.

It wasn't complicated but it was challenging. Even with the upper control arm, sway bar, and tie rod disconnected, It is difficult to remove the shock. I used the brand new mcpheson strut spring compressor (which I borrowed from Autozone) to compress the assembly and it still took a lot of sweating, swearing, and patience to remove it. The clearances are just so tight.

The good news is, I now have some new tools (impact wrench) and some new skills. Plus the truck looks great! I also spent time painting the rusty calipers and disc where they contact the wheel. In addition I also cleaned and undercoated the frame using Amsoil MPHD, good stuff!

My wife gave me a hard time about spending most of the day just to raise the front 1.5" (middle perch setting) but after seeing it she agreed it looks much better.

My wife didn't mind that it took most of the day, but man she doesn't care for the fact that she can see less of the road now. She wasn't a fan of the "rocking boat" ride with the swaybar removed either. :rotflmao:
