Pedal commander vs sport mode

I’ve searched and can’t find this topic. Seems the PC does the same thing to the throttle response as sport mode but sport mode brings other changes along with it.

If I’m wrong, tell me how please. If I’m right then why would you want a PC?

Pedal commander is junk. It only scales the throttle voltage or whatever. Nothing a real tune won’t do. Sport mode does more than scale the throttle voltage giving g you the feeling of a more se sensitive throttle

For people who say but it won’t void warranty. Do you know someone with a tune who’s warranty has been voided? It’s more than difficult to find if a trucks been tuned? Any plug and play harness for hp is not a good substitute for a proper calibration.

The pedal commander is only going to increase throttle response

It's better then driving around tacked out waiting for the damn truck to shift like in sport mode lll

Get a proper calibration. I can’t even argue with anyone who argues for a pedal commander. I’m out on this thread.

Get a proper Calibration and you can adjust throttle response and 1009 other things

So I gave him/her my input and an example, maybe he is afraid to possibility void his warranty.

Not arguing at all man. My apologies coming across like that to you. I know lots of people get worked up over the stinking thing.

Sport mode isn’t the ‘default’ mode the truck reverts to with an ignition cycle and sometimes you might want to roll around in “eco” mode but want better throttle response in normal mode.

Description wise, it’s already been covered, but, what’s missing is that it improves the throttle response in normal mode, so that you can actually pass people without full throttle, and the truck doesn’t fight you to downshift. Also if you’re running around in 4a, you don’t have to futz with the transfer case selector, you can just leave it in normal mode. It won’t hold shifts in normal mode with a pedal commander the same as in sport mode, but if you start to cane it, the truck will shift somewhat more aggressively.

If you can tolerate the as delivered ’normal’ (eco) drive mode Ford provided, then don’t spend the money on a PC.

A good tune will improve power and make the throttle response linear, but you -may- (or may not) have some warranty concerns.

lots of guys buy the P/C, then get a tune and sell the P/C. look for them for sale in the garage sale forum if that’s the route you choose because they’re overpriced new.

If you are even considering the pedal commander, spend the money on a tune instead. Pedal commander only changes the sensitivity of the throttle. Sport mode changes sensitivity and shifting.
