Hi, I'm trying to determine the payload capacity of my 18 Supercrew Raptor for a small travel trailer.

Sticker on door says cargo and passenger capacity is 1048lb

2018 Ford Towing guide says Payload 1200lb

Towing guide states payload is calculated by GVWR(7050) - curb weight(5697)=1353lb

Is there a difference in the cargo payload on the door sticker vs 2018 tow guide vs calculating gvwr-curb weight from my other door sticker?

I tow with my 2020 Supercrew often. Supercrews are rated at around 8000 lbs., but, as pointed out earlier, you have to take in to account how your Raptor is optioned. 802a with a sunroof will be heavier and therefore reduce your overall weight carrying capability. You have to add up all the people, tools, etc. on the vehicle weight and then consider the hitch weight of the trailer when calculating. For the Raptor, anything over 5000 lbs. requires a weight distribution hitch. I found even with my weight distribution hitch (Anderson), I had quite a bit of sag. I added Deavers +3s and it reduced the sag quite a bit. My trailer is 5400 dry or closer to 6000 lbs fully loaded. My hitch weight is around 450 lbs. GVWR may be 1200 - 500 lbs of people - 100 lbs of load - 100 lbs of options added weight leaves me with 500 lbs of hitch weight. It is important not to exceed this number for truck braking (even if you're using the brakes on your trailer). Weight is also set to not overwhelm the suspension, keep the front wheels with enough traction and other considerations when towing something that heavy.

I started looking at Toy Haulers this year but nothing, with the capacity I wanted, was going to be within the range a Raptor can tow. Ford keeps the PDFs on their site for years of towing capacities. Search for 2018 Ford F150 Towing capacity and it should show up.

I hope that helps.

You definitely want to use the rating on the door jamb. I'm searching for a small travel trailer as well and after deducting the weight of the occupants, the hitch weight of the trailer, and the WD hitch itself, there is not a lot of overhead. Seems like an awful lot of Raptor owners are overloading them based on the actual payload figures.
