We've done this about 50000 times, cut the tape, use those taps and it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to do it with a pair of linesman pliers

I agree. I had no problems connecting these wires. I'm left handed so maybe that had something to do with it.

I got tired of trying to solder mine. I burned my hands numerous times trying to get in there. I ended up buying some posi-lock connectors. I didn't trust them until I got 2 scrap pieces of wire and connected them. I couldn't rip the wires out of it even standing on it and pulling, so that was enough proof for me. So much easier!

Posi-locks are excellent connectors. No way I was soldering in there either.
