I just got the paint in today. Does anybody no what would be the easiest way to remove the clear coat on the rings? I dont wanna have to sand them. I'm thinking maybe using this stuff Rust-Oleum/Clear and base coat remover 248878 at AutoZone.com - 1 reviews anybody tried this stuff?

I painted the tip on my 50 cal bullet antenna, to see how the color looks. I think its a little darker. Maybe it's because of the black paint that was on the bullet that makes it look darker, i hope that's what it is.

Is it cool to use paint stripper on these? I had no luck with that clear coat remover. I also had a guy say he couldn't sand blast them because there powder coated, said it would not work well and might warp the ring. I thought that would be the best way to remove the original paint off them?

I finally got all the old powder coating of them this weekend and painted them. I dont like the out come though, looks kinda whack. There not a exact match of my truck paint, so i will be changing them to black soon. It was a lot of time and energy wasted for nothing this weekend on them. My fog lights turned out good though. I flexidip the shell of the lights so that chrome wouldn't look off on my truck. The install of the lights were a breeze.

Yeah even color matched rings isn't for everyone. I personally don't like the look and agree the blue is off. Think it will look awesome in black though. Get the stock replacement black lugnuts to get rid of the last chrome on the wheels. Painting the SVT in blue wouldn't look that bad, I would give it a shot or buy the stickers from Designs n Signs that fit in there. If doesn't look good, just peel them off.

The lights look cool. I agree, the rings are a little dark. Maybe painting the wheel a lighter color like dark charcoal would help. I am not a fan of black wheels to start with. Just my 2 cents.

Nice Truck!!

I just put the black lug nuts on it. Thanks for reminding me to get them. I forgot all about doing that. Makes the rims/rings look a little better. Still going to get them powder coated black though.
