Thanks for the help guys. I removed the sensor entirely, sprayed it with the CRC cleaner and disconnected the battery to reset the computer. Let everything dry then fired it up and everything seems to be running fine. Still doesn't feel quite as snappy but it may just take a little time for that residue to come off.

But, could also just be me as I did happen to be romping on an S63 AMG all day yesterday. :driver:

I've been meaning to pull my MAF and spray it off as I've had a similar issue. The worst part is under really hard acceleration and constant, high RPMs, it will throw a CEL and I get a random misfire code. One of the times it said cylinder 3 and 5 but I'm not sure if that's consistent.

How many miles you got on your plugs? Sometimes its the simple, overlooked things (like spark plugs) that can fix the problem. Reminds me of this one time, we were tuning our TT LS1 buggy, and just would not run well over 4000 rpm. We checked over everything. Guess what, after 2 days of tinkering, we decide to put in fresh plugs and bam, runs like a champ.

I will definitely keep that in mind but they SHOULD HAVE been replaced with the engine swap at 12k miles and I'm at 25k now. It would not surprise me one bit if they reused the old plugs so if cleaning the MAF doesn't work I'll consider the idea of swapping the plugs (not a job I'm looking forward to).

I had the same problem with my quad when I put a K&N in it for the first time, found out that the oil saturated the MAF sensor, got some CRC MAF cleaner solved the problem.
