First off thanks for all the great info shared here, that helped us greatly through the order process.

We ordered a 802a supercrew av grey rap with all options except carbon and beadlock wheels.

Dealer #1 - " 'we have one left' We just sold our last one for 15k over MSRP. Hurry if you want it, we only had 3 and 2 are gone. we will cut you a deal for only 10K over MSRP......

no thanks....

Dealer #2 - Come in and well talk about it, will make sure its under or at least not over MSRP

now were talking.....

Dealer #2 is a larger dealer, was great to work with. The salesmen did not necessarily know much about orders and how they get pulled etc. but the manager did. I had built my raptor out online and printed that so came in knowing what i wanted etc. They basically just sold it to me for MSRP which i was fine with. I am number 3 in line. The dealer had initial allotment of 6. I asked several times about a possible way to move up the priority order. They told me they could go to #1 for 3k which i was interested in, but they actually talked me out of it because they didn't think the delays were going to actually be that large.

Hopefully that is indeed the case, but i felt good to have a dealer talk me out of giving them money lol.

the way they did their priority is for rap orders im 12, they put the other guys at 10 and 11.

Hopefully they know what they are doing and they arent playing me etc but i thought id share, maybe it will be helpful!

total price (not tax etc) - $65,045k

Let me know if this sounds straight to you guys! Thansk! Will be our first raptor!

P.S. Dealer #1 called while i was on way to dealer #2, i told him i was on the way to another dealer who was willing to do MSRP or less, his reponse was "yeah, let me know how that works out for you".

I think it worked out great =)

Sounds legit to me based on my limited experience with dealers. If you search my posts you'll find I recommended dealing with the largest dealer of F150's you can find in your area. Which is exactly what you did.

They have a larger allocation of Raptors and they sell a lot of vehicles because of experiences like yours.

Sounds like they were honest with you about how things work, gave you a fair price and treated you well. That's good to hear. The one thing that bothers me about that deal is the $3,000 premium to be bumped up the list. I wonder if the people at one and two know they could get out bid for their spot. Also wonder why they haven't got their first order scheduled yet at this point.

Who is the dealer?

I stopped at a dealership near Houston to just see if they'd deal. They told me the going rate was $5k over MSRP. When I told him I bought my 2014 for invoice, he said, 'if you find a 2017 for invoice, let me know where so we can go buy all of their allocations.' He obviously didn't believe me and wasn't willing to deal.

The dealership I bought my 2014 it from is under new ownership and wouldn't even offer me MSRP on a 17.

That $3k 'skip the line' option does sound a tad bit shady but it seems they were fair and honest if they talked you out of it.

Congrats on the order!

First congrats! Glad you got one at MSRP.

2nd - how does paying $3K over get you pulled up in allocation? Sounds like for $3K, you get to take the spot of the guy who's priority "10" and who ordered before you, no?

it's really no wonder why in this day and age that car dealers still can't shake the negative rep that follows them around...

Glad you got a good deal, but I would be a little concerned by the fact that it sounds like they are more than willing to bump you down in priority if the next guy through the door is willing to pay mark up.

Thanks guys, yall make some great points! They did seem pretty stand up to me, as if they didnt really want to go there with the upgrade thing but were trying to go out of there way to try and make it happen for me too, but like i said talk me out of it at the same time haha. I am not sure why they haven't had one pulled for scheduling/production yet.....i assume there are still many dealers in this boat? Ill be sure to have them let me know as soon as #1 goes.

I also put down 1K for the deposit.
