Doesn't the RX8 only have around or right at 200hp and even less torque? I don't even consider the RX8 a sports car with lame ass numbers like that. I realize it weighs a lot less than a Raptor, but is anyone here even really surprised by this road kill story.

While I'm with you on the RX8 as a mere sportyish street car its a fun story that was creatively written. Get EM! That said the RX8s are quite competitive in the Rolex Racing Series placing third in the 24@Daytona. Despite being super annoying to listen to... ;)

Get the RX8 in the twisties and they're badass. Also, agreed that they need to be absolutely SCREAMING RPM's in order to get out of their own way.

Based on my 1/4 mile time -- which is a 15.3 @ 91; the RX8 would definitely had started pulling on you. They run anywhere from 14.3 to 14.8 in the 1/4 with a 5.7 to 6.5 sec 0-60 time.

We definitely get the holeshot on most other vehicles with our massive 4.17 first gear ratio and over 400 pounds of torque.

Good job!

Nice story Ice.

On a different note, do you guys have gawkers who cruise in your blindspot? I'm almost squashed a Saturn Sky yesterday while changing lanes.

I've noticed people will speed up to me and then just sit off to my left or right and I have to keep reminding myself they're there.:emotions122:

I used to be in to the rotary engines. this is a vid I've have for a while. It's a 4-rotor RX-7. Thought I would share...even Scotty's truck would look like it's standing still against this thing lol

I agree with you on all accounts. IMO, the problem with most RX8 drivers is that they think they're driving a fast sports car when they just aren't. This guy clearly thought so. He was railing on that shifter like a red headed stepchild, giving that rotary all it was worth. The fact is that we hadn't reached "barn door speeds" that would hurt the Raptor and I was still slightly pulling on him when I lifted. Without a doubt, my mods helped... Volant CAI, Magnaflow catback, and Livernois Motorsports tune. Also, to be on the quicker side of those times for the RX8, you really have to be an expert at wringing out a pretty dry towel. Those cars are a bitch to launch properly. The car did him no favors. Torque is your friend.
