I average 12.7 mpg, 80% city. If I pace myself and feather the throttle (read: drive like a grandma in an '84 Buick) I will see high 16s, low 17s on the freeway.

Avg is settling at 12.6 after 250 miles of driving with a lead foot half the time and like a 16 year old in the car with his drivers ed teacher.

Sorry when i think of grandma's driving, i think a lot of swerving and late starts after light changes not slow.

2010 6.2L using shell 91. Like many here would agree, keeping it under 70, 65ish you can see some decent numbers. Anything above that really is hard to get good figures. I have no idea how some guys are saying they are getting 15mpg doing 70, 75 mph (maybe good tailwind?)
Maybe they run a CAI and aftermarket exhaust? My mustang gets alot better mpg since I did that.

With 87 oct I had an avg of around 12mpg, switching to 91 I get 15 city and upwards of 17.3 at times on highway.

I just did the same thing on this last fill up and couldn't believe the jump in fuel economey, I got the same 3-4mpg jump I'm pretty happy.

The only problem is being here on the east coast and that friggin train crash in quebec they jump the price of fuel $0.10 in one week so 91 is now around a $1.44 a litre. To put it in perspective for the American guys I did the math and that's a .31 cent jump. Its pure ******** what happened to the days when shit went bad you took the hit and kept going greedy bastards! And as always once its up it won't go back down.

Rant done lol

use e-30 ethanol it's better than 91 imo cheaper too

seeing a bunch of info now on tv about research that has been done and new studys showing how bad ethanol is for not only the engines but our food production.someone is trying to stop obama and wilsons partnership.
anyone else seen the ads?

I'm seeing more power and better economy with ethanol free fuel.
Pricing is going up though :(
91 octane ethanol free is crazy fun, chirps tires HARD at about 40 mph when upshifting

Towing the GT (around 5,900lbs) to Mustang Week & back. Had a hundred or so cruising around Myrtle beach in traffic going to and from dinner.

tried a little experiment over weekend, filled up to the brim with 93 octane ( 10%) ethonal , jumped on interstate ,, well my buddy did as he was driving,, i just riding,,drove for 233 miles at 79 -80 mph, averaged, had to pass a few, slow a bit but for the most part rt on 79-80 ,stopped once , then back on it. pulled into gas station and filled to brim , 17.1 gallons. that works out to 13.6 miles per gallon. on board computor read 12.9. this is in a 2013 screw. and yes , i had reset at start of drive. Why do you think there is such a diffrence with the on board being wrong ?

The computers are never 100% correct on any vehicle and some are worse then others. Doing the math your self is the best way but still not 100% unless you find away to mark the tank so you always fill to the same point, you also have to consider if the truck is on level ground or an incline will change how much fuel your putting in even though it clicks off.

All in all if its only of half mile a gallon I wouldn't worry about it unless your tracking it for cost/profits in a business
